Forget about fat shaming. In our climate-obsessed culture, carbon shaming is the future. The Toronto Star this week reported that an unspecified "federal government database" lists the University of Toronto as one of the city's worst greenhouse-gas emitters and a bigger polluter even than the industrial-behemoth and waterfront eyesore that is the Redpath sugar refinery. How can this be, you ask? Did U of T administrators not get the memo about running their world-leading labs and lectures in off-peak hours? Maybe we need a barbaric-carbon-practices snitch line. Clearly, it's not easy being green, even when you have the prizes to prove it.
