The Canadian Press reported this week that within the next five or ten years we may be flying in pilotless commercial airplanes. "Technological advances in self-driving vehicles are already opening the door to autonomous commercial flight, an increasingly attractive prospect for industry players facing a dearth of pilots," says the report. "Around the world, pioneering startups are being gobbled up by big players. Boeing recently acquired Aurora Flight Sciences, a company that is developing autonomous flying vehicles."
Presumably when we're being ushered onto them by robot flight attendants, they'll have acquired a sexier name than drones.
