When the mayor of Victoria, B.C., wrote "I am ashamed to say that I have an undergraduate degree in Canadian history, a master’s in Canadian history and a half-completed PhD in Canadian history," did she mean to indict the historical profession in Canada? Hardly.
Never at a loss for a generalization that explains everything, the Globe and MaiI's Doug Sanders has this week indicted "the baby boomer generation" for desiring to "return to a safe, clean, happy, prosperous, non-existent 1950s.”
The idea that the science on global warming was settled and widely acknowledged by 1979 will come as a big surprise to North Americans who can remember meteorologists warning them that the Earth was then descending into a new ice age.
